Eligibility

Understand English or Spanish
Trouble moving your hands, arms or legs because of the stroke
Be 18 years of age or older
Currently live in the U.S.A
Not have any other sensorimotor condition aside form stroke that impairs movement of your body (This includes ALS, MS, Parkinson's Disease, etc.)
Not have severe aphasia, meaning you would be unable to understand the survey or communicate your responses to us

What is the study about?

The study consists of an online research survey investigating the experiences of stroke survivors with mobility issues in their arms and/or legs. This survey will help assistive device design researchers understand what is important to the stroke survivor. The goal of this study is to help us design rehabilitative, at-home stroke technology that can aid in improving recovery outcomes and help everyone get better after stroke regardless of the resources they have. To this end, participants will be asked to participate in an online survey of your goals and experiences regarding their rehabilitation and at-home stroke technology.

How long will it take to participate in the study?

The survey can be paused and continued at the participant’s own pace if taken online, but if one were to take it in one sitting it would take about 35 minutes to complete.

¿De qué trata el estudio?

El estudio consiste en una encuesta de investigación en línea que investiga las experiencias de los sobrevivientes de derrame/accidentes cerebrovasculares con problemas de movilidad en sus brazos y / o piernas. Esta encuesta ayudará a los investigadores del diseño de dispositivos de asistencia a entender lo que es importante para usted, el sobreviviente del accidente cerebrovascular. El objetivo de este estudio es ayudarnos a diseñar una tecnología de rehabilitación y derrame/accidente cerebrovascular en el hogar que pueda ayudar a mejorar los resultados de recuperación y ayudar a todos a mejorar después de un derrame/accidente cerebrovascular independiente de los recursos que tengan. Para este propósito, se les pedirá a los participantes que participen en una encuesta en línea de sus objetivos y experiencias con respecto a su rehabilitación y tecnología de derrame/accidente cerebrovascular en el hogar.
